Lazard President Ray McGuire Speaks at 2024 Milken Institute Global Conference

On May 7, Lazard President Ray McGuire was a featured panelist at the 2024 Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills, California.

During his session, “Countering Warning Signs,” Ray discussed client sentiment regarding the acceleration of inflation and the US Federal Reserve’s tightening fiscal policy, and the emphasis for corporate clients on macro and geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges such as artificial intelligence, energy transition, deglobalization healthcare and cybersecurity. Ray also touched on investor questions that must be answered before deploying capital back into the marketplace:

“As I think of where we’re going here, and the discussion that we are having, the future in how you get those dollars back to the marketplace – you’ve got to give more confidence in how the US is going to be, competitive longer term. [Regarding] valuations, I’ve got to have more confidence. If it’s going to be higher for longer, let me understand that, and then I have to figure out where valuations are going to coincide with that,” said Ray.
