Lazard Chief Market Strategist Ron Temple on Bloomberg Open Interest

On September 18, Lazard Chief Market Strategist Ron Temple appeared on Bloomberg Open Interest to discuss key insights surrounding this week's Federal Reserve meeting, expectations for interest rates, and the macroeconomic environment.
Regarding anticipated interest rate cuts, Ron stated, "This is not an economy heading into recession in my view. We've got a strong economy...and the only reason I could see for the [Federal Reserve] to move by 50 is to take out an insurance policy. It is critical...if the [Federal Reserve] does give us 50 today, that they need to reassure the market that the economy is strong, that the labor market remains strong...They've made so much progress on reducing inflation that they need to rebalance the mandate, much like Jay Powell talked about in Jackson Hole."
