Lazard Chief Executive Officer Peter Orszag Announced as Periodic Columnist for The Washington Post

On December 12, Lazard Chief Executive Officer Peter Orszag’s second oped was published in The Washington Post, officially marking his debut as a new periodic columnist for the publication. Over the next year, Peter will author pieces focusing on the intersection of business, economics, and policy as an extension of Lazard’s widely recognized, world-class perspectives that are delivered to clients through deep, intelligent research and insights.

In his first column as a Post Opinions contributor, "Why Trump is right not to fire the Fed chair,” Peter discusses the positive implications of keeping the Federal Reserve an independent agency as the United States transitions into a new presidential administration. He argues, “The incoming administration should stick to preserving the Federal Reserve’s independence.
