On June 12, Lazard's Chief Executive Officer, Peter Orszag, appeared on CNBC's Money Movers. He discussed the May inflation report, the anticipated path of Federal Reserve rate cuts, and the dealmaking environment in the face of continued U.S. regulatory actions, global election results, and rapid generative AI integration across organizations.

In response to the positive market sentiment following the May inflation report, Peter expressed his expectation for inflation to continue its downward path and noted: "I’d say this [CPI report] is great for the economy, it’s also really good for a place like Lazard because, what it will mean is, the movement of sponsors that are becoming more active will be accelerated and there [are] also benefits to active asset management firms like ours… A lot of activity is awaiting the Fed pivot. So, this significantly increases the odds, in my opinion, of a September rate cut.”
