On July 25, Lazard's Chief Executive Officer, Peter Orszag, appeared on CNBC's Money Movers following Lazard reporting second quarter and half-year 2024 earnings. He discussed the driving forces behind the firm's historic growth and strategy ahead, advisory revenues from the quarter, and the M&A deal environment.
Peter highlighted the strong advisory revenues from the first half of the year, attributing them to Lazard's exceptional talent and strategic action to advance the Lazard 2030 vision. "I think we're at an inflection moment for this firm as we continue to execute against our long-term growth plan. If anything, we're ahead of schedule," he stated. Peter also emphasized that while Lazard is well-positioned to continue capitalizing on M&A deals, the firm has also seen a significant increase in advisory revenue outside of M&A, including areas such as restructuring and fund raising for private equity.
