How did you come to join Lazard?

In my third year of college, I had the opportunity to do a three-month summer internship program at a top-tier Brazilian asset management firm where I spent the summer working on the coverage of the U.S. healthcare industry. When I was finishing my fourth year, after my first work experience and having spoken with people who had already started their careers, I realized that financial advisory would be the best career fit for me and I decided to pursue an internship in investment banking.

By that time, a friend of mine had recently joined Lazard as an Intern and was really enjoying it, and they told me that there was a new internship position available. I immediately applied to the position,
and after a two-month process I finally got the news that I had been accepted for a one-year internship. After one year I was promoted and I’m currently in my eighth month as an Investment Banking Analyst.

What is the most exciting and rewarding part of your job?

The most exciting and rewarding part of my job is that I get to work on several high-profile projects, alongside very smart and motivated people in a uniquely collaborative environment. Working at Lazard gives me the opportunity to develop both my hard and soft skills at a very fast pace, even as a Junior Analyst.

What advice would you share with someone considering a career at Lazard?

My advice is to reach out to the people currently working at Lazard. Ask them about their experiences and daily work routines. It’s very important to understand the profile of each team so you can decide which group, industry coverage and office fits you the best.
