Mark Walker Joins Lazard as Senior Advisor in Sovereign Advisory

PARIS, December 4, 2023 – Lazard Ltd (NYSE: LAZ) announced today that Mark Walker, one of the world's most respected experts in public sector debt restructuring and financing, has joined the firm as Senior Advisor in its leading Sovereign Advisory franchise.

Mr. Walker has 40 years of experience advising more than 25 countries, state-owned enterprises, and international organizations around the world on complex financial matters.

Before rejoining Lazard, Mr. Walker was a Senior Managing Director and Head of Sovereign Advisory at Guggenheim Securities from 2018 to August 2023. Prior to this, Mr. Walker served as Head of Sovereign Advisory at Millstein & Co, and held the same role at Rothschild & Co between 2012 and 2014. He served as a Senior Advisor at Lazard from May 2011 to August 2012. Mr. Walker was a partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP from 1975 to 2011, and its Global Managing Partner from 2005 to 2011.

Mr. Walker is a member of the G30 and the Bretton Woods Committee sovereign debt working groups. He has published and lectured widely on sovereign finance. He received a law degree from Yale Law School and a B.A. in English literature from Stanford University.
