Lazard today announced that Tyler Cowan will become Global Head of Restructuring & Liability Management effective September 1, succeeding David Kurtz, who will transition to a new role as a senior advisor.
Mr. Cowan currently serves as Co-Head of Restructuring & Liability Management, North America, and has been with Lazard for more than 20 years. His extensive experience includes a wide range of liability management, capital solutions, M&A, and corporate finance assignments for clients from a variety of industries.
Mr. Kurtz has led Lazard’s Restructuring business since 2012, raising the bar on the firm’s work for clients, and building a strong business worldwide. He joined Lazard in 2002 and became Co-Head of the Global Restructuring Group in 2006.
“We have a deep bench of highly experienced Restructuring bankers and we look forward to the continued growth of the business under Tyler's leadership,” said Peter Orszag, Lazard CEO-Elect. “We congratulate Tyler on his new role and thank David for his service both in leading the Restructuring group, and during his 21 years with Lazard.”
