Lazard Hires Jon Steinberg to Media, Entertainment & Sports Advisory Group

As part of Lazard’s 2030 long-term growth strategy that includes adding new Managing Directors through internal promotion and lateral hiring, this week the firm welcomed Jon Steinberg as a Managing Director in the Media, Entertainment & Sports Advisory Group. The firm has made several important senior hires across these sectors, previously appointing Ben Braun as the Global Head of Media, Entertainment & Sports and Stephen Finkel as the Global Head of Sports.
Jon has a storied career within the media industry, holding C-level positions across many companies including:

Most recently the CEO of Future Plc, a FTSE 250 media company headquartered in London.

Previously the President of Altice USA News & Advertising.

Founder of Cheddar News, which was acquired by Altice USA in June of 2019.

Prior to Cheddar he was the Chief Executive Officer of MailOnline North America, where he grew U.S. revenue 45 percent and doubled direct advertising revenue.

President & Chief Operating Officer of BuzzFeed where he was responsible for business management, company operations, finance, and social advertising operations from 2010 to 2014. Under his leadership, BuzzFeed became a global and profitable social advertising business working with over half of the top 100 brands. He grew the company from 15 employees to over 500.
