Klaus H. Hessberger is a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Lazard’s Global Financial Sponsors Group based in London.
Klaus has more than 30 years of experience in Investment banking and Capital Markets. During his career, he has advised multiple Corporate, Private Equity and Government clients on Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity and Debt capital markets as well as Markets solutions globally.
Prior to joining Lazard in July 2025, Klaus was a Vice Chairman and previously Global Co-Head of J.P. Morgan’s Global Strategic Investors and Financial Sponsors Coverage Group in London.
In this capacity, he co-ran the market leading team and managed C-Suite relationships with some of the world’s largest private equity and infrastructure funds as well as global SWF, Family office and VC fund clients. Prior to his roles in the Global and European Financial Sponsors teams, Klaus co-ran J.P. Morgan‘s EMEA Equity Capital Markets business Co-Head throughout the financial crisis until early 2016 leading numerous Global IPO and ABB transactions, Capital Raisings and Acquisition financings as well as Convertible transactions for Corporate, Financial Sponsor and Government clients.
Before to joining J.P. Morgan in 2000, Klaus was a Director in the Equity Corporate Finance and Investment Banking division at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in Frankfurt.
Klaus holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Würzburg University, Germany.
