Andrew Torgove is a Managing Director at Lazard. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of the Restructuring group within Private Market Advisory.

He has more than 25 years of experience advising companies in the execution of restructuring transactions, both in and out-of-court, including M&A transactions, financings, exchange offers and plans of reorganization.

Prior to joining Lazard Andrew was a Managing Director at Stairway Capital, focused on buying distressed middle-market companies. From 1996 to 2004, Andrew worked at Houlihan Lokey and was Co-Head of their Distressed M&A practice in New York from 2001-2004.

Andrew received a Ph.D. in Economics from the New School for Social Research, a Master’s Degree in Economics from Boston College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi.
