Richard Thomas
Managing Director
Rich Thomas is a Managing Director in Lazard's Capital Markets Advisory group, where he advises corporate clients on preparing for, and responding to, shareholder activism and unsolicited approaches, as well as strategic investor relations, capital raising, and corporate governance/ESG-related matters.
With almost 20 years of investment banking experience, Rich has advised a wide range of clients across a broad spectrum of equity advisory and corporate finance matters, including some of the largest global corporate clients in both the United States and Europe. His deep experience in complex shareholder situations and understanding of investor perspectives and behavior has helped business leaders navigate some of the most complicated situations involving the public capital markets.
Rich graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and served as an officer in the U.S. Army for six years. He was a Captain in the 173rd Airborne Brigade, serving in multiple command positions across numerous combat deployments.
After his time in the military, he attended Harvard Business School prior to joining Lazard.
